Museum of Country Life gears up for tenth anniversary celebrations
The award-winning National Museum of Ireland – Country Life in Turlough Park, Castlebar, will soon reach another major milestone when it celebrates the 10th anniversary of its official opening. On Monday September 19, An Taoiseach Enda Kenny will join the celebrations to mark the official opening which took place on September 9 2001.

Luisne Art Project at Museum of Country Life
The Luisne Art Project is showing its exhibition Insight at The National Museum of Country Life. This exhibition of art has come from its previous showing in Galway University Hospital and will be housed at the museum café until June 2011. Insight includes a special installation of four stained glass light boxes which were created by the group.
Year of the honeybee
This year has been designated the year of the honeybee. To mark the occasion the Westport, Ballina, and Connemara Beekeepers Associations will have a stand at Féile na Tuaithe (May 21 and 22) in the grounds of the Museum of Country Life, at Turlough, Castlebar.
